Email Lists

IOBA maintains a number of mailing lists for member use. This page offers an overview of these lists and guidance for making the best use of these lists.

ANNOUNCE

The Announce list is where messages of importance to all IOBA members are posted. Only the IOBA President is able to post messages to this list. Your email address of record for IOBA is automatically subscribed to this list. You can modify the address used in your Member Profile but you are not able to unsubscribe.

Please consider subscribing to the following IOBA email lists if you don’t already belong. If you are unable to resolve your problem using the links below, and need further help with any of these lists, please contact listadministrator@ioba.org

DISCUSS

This is a discussion list for IOBA members, and has been described as our town hall meeting place.

Official business and news that needs to reach every member of IOBA comes through the Announce List, but important business is carried out on the Discuss List, such as most of the annual election process, so we urge all members to join. Once you do, the full list archive is available.

Although the Discuss List is loosely moderated, and not restricted to bookselling topics, members are urged to exhibit good behavior.

To address the list, simply post to discuss@ioba.org.

TRADEBOOKS

This list is solely for the purpose of listing items for sale and for listing wants on a member-to-member basis. Special sales, offers of lots, links to auctions, etc., are also acceptable. The number of posts are not limited, though moderation is a virtue. Once you join, the full list archive is available.

Posters should use the following initial subject lines on this list:

  • -FS (books for sale)

  • -WTB (books wanted)

  • -FA (links to items up for auction)

To address the list, simply post to tradebooks@ioba.org.

IOBA BOOKS

This list is for the purpose of discussing anything related to books on IOBA, the bookselling service of IOBA. You do not need to be listed with IOBA in order to join. It is moderated by the IOBA Books Committee Chair. Once you join, the full list archive is available.

To address the list, simply post to iobabooks@ioba.org

IOBA STANDARD

This list is open to anyone and is for the purpose of receiving notification when a new issue of the IOBA Standard is published.
